Bear Creek threat suspect says he was trying to avoid attack


STOCKTON — A man charged with phoning in a terrorist threat to Bear Creek High that left the school with only about one-third of its normal attendance on Friday insisted he was trying to avert a Columbine-style attack, not carry one out himself.
